Tia sank back into the chair, leaving the book, still forgotten, lying at her feet. Her fingers drifted to her lips, feeling their slightly swollen tenderness, and she was aware of his taste still on her tongue, as she relived the memory of his arms about her, warming her through, as they drew her against his hard body.

Time passed, but Tia saw no point in moving. She wanted to treasure this moment as long as possible. She was still sitting there when the clock struck midnight, and Christmas Eve became Christmas.

Sighing, she rose, knowing that she should return to the ball, for supper would be served soon, and her Papa would worry if she was not there.

Straightening her dress, she smiled – for her Christmas wish had come true, and his kiss was the best Christmas present she could ever receive.

And then there was his promise to seek her out again. Suddenly, her world seemed full of potential….. wonderful things could happen.

Tia hummed happily to herself as she went back to the Ballroom, already starting to imagine what might happen tomorrow.
